The Makhathini small farmer development trial recently took place on 18 – 19 May 2021. The main aim is to check the resilience against blight among cultivars to select the best cultivars for rural regions during winter plantings. This information will benefit commercial farmers as well. The same work will be repeated for the summer planting regions in September.
